The alpaca is a charming and valuable member of the Camelid family....
They are a herd animal native to the Andes Mountains in South America. Alpacas are prized for their luxurious and costly fiber. Alpaca fleece is a durable
and warm natural fiber that is delightfully soft to the touch. Nothing could be finer or more pleasurable to work with than pure alpaca fiber.
Alpaca is a hypoallergenic, water resistant natural fiber with the softness of cashmere and the strength of modern synthetics.
Alpaca blankets, sofa throws, scarves, vest, sweaters and jackets are a cherished possession, frequently handed down from one generation to the next.
We at T3 are proud to introduce our line of Alpaca Yarn. We have been working closely with the mills to produce an alpaca yarn for
knitters, crocheters and weavers. We are offering 31 beautiful colors and will continue to expand our color selection.
T3 Alpaca Yarn is our main line of yarn that we have been carrying in our studio for the past 10 years. It is a commercial grade alpaca yarn that works great for scarves, sofa throws, hats, gloves, mittens etc. It is considered a heavy worsted, 130 yards per 4 oz. skein, needle size 10, guage 4 - 4.5 stitches per inch. One skein will make a hat or a pair of mitten (8 needle) and two skeins will make a scarf. This is a great line of yarn, due to the size it works up quickly and since it is heavier it give a nice thick end product. With 31 colors and counting, there is no shortage of creativity with this quick and durable alpaca yarn.
Each year we receive alpaca fiber from the Weather'd T, our family's alpaca ranch. This fiber is spun various mills located here in the United States. This yarn is usually available in 4-5 natural colors, no dyes added. Suri alpaca yarn is also
available in a variety of sizes and colors. Each line is a limited run from year to year so keep checking back because these lines will always be changing.
